Hydrogen Bromide (HBr)
air-Qs with a sensor for Hydrogen Bromide
Formation/Occurrence:
Production of bromides, catalysis, semiconductor processes; also formed on contact of brominated compounds with water/acids.
Limit Values:
Low workplace limit values; short-term exposures strictly limited.
Effects:
Strong irritation/burns to mucous membranes; risk of bronchospasm and pulmonary edema.
Note:
Moisture intensifies the effect; gas-tight protective measures required.
